Howie Anderson

“In a field known for its egocentric prima donnas, Howie Anderson is one of those rare virtuosos who comes off more like Clark Kent than the stereotypical self-absorbed guitar hero.”(David Brighton-Space Oddity)

[Howie Anderson]”…is one of the finest guitarists I’ve ever worked with” – Spencer Davis …

Howie does it all with his distinct talent and versatility as a composer, stage performer, music director, producer and teacher. He is a well-rounded musician and well versed in Rock, Jazz, Classical, Blues, Alternative Americana and many ethnic styles of music.

Nothing represents flower power and psychedelic rock music better than ‘The Strawberry Alarm Clock’. Howie is a member and the lead guitarist in the iconic band. Their Psychedelic hit song, “Incense and Peppermints”, is the quintessential anthem representing those psychedelic times. The Strawberry Alarm Clock, continues to write and record new songs as well as tour. (

Teaching has always been special for Howie. He’s been teaching for 40 years. For 15 years he has been the ‘Rock Band’ and guitar teacher at Sierra Canyon School, a private school in Chatsworth, CA. He loves to watch as each student’s pride and self-confidence grows in a way that only music can bring forth. His passion for music clearly comes through in his teaching. A masterful player with remarkable patience.
